Kong: Skull Island
Kong is brilliant.
Unfortunately the people that surround him are not. They go to his island to investigate it. You care about none of them. Not Samuel L Jacksons grizzled soldier (dick), Brie Larsons photographer (meh), John Goodmans dodge pot (also a dick) and especially Tom Hiddlestons whatever he is (he just makes terrible decisions, constantly, on purpose) and you know most of them are going to die. John C Reilly is at least amusing and has a tiny bit of a character.
Back to Kong. The scenes with him rock. He fights this, he fights that. He generally (SPOILER ALERT) wins. The other monsters are also well done so when that's all going on it's fun and the 2 hours went pretty quickly. Shame I was literally the only person there. The 3D was pretty good too.
